Appalachian Fair Outreach
We spent most of the week helping a dear sister in Christ with her evangelism booth at the Appalachian Fair and let me tell you- we had some great conversations!
This was the first year that our sister incorporated some abortion material (some lit and a sign) and we were pleasantly surprised at the reactions and the conversations that we got from the little bit that was put out!
I cannot tell you how many people thanked us for being there and for the abortion ministry lit that we had out! We even had a handful of people grab a stack of drop cards in order to share them with others and quite a few interested in what exactly an abolitionist was!
I will say though, the majority of the conversations that we had this week were Gospel related and involved various doctrine issues. It was so heartbreaking to talk to people who identified as Christians but they had no clue about the Gospel nor how to share it ….including a few pastors! MIND BLOWING!
The most common answers when we asked for them to share the Good News, the Gospel with us we got:
- It’s their testimony.
- It’s how they live their lives.
- It’s how they love other people.
- It’s going to church and being a good person.
How devastating is that? We live in the “bible belt” but yet it seems like no one knows what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is! How is this possible with all of these churches around?!
I am so thankful for our dear sister and that she invited us to come and help her with this much needed work- over 5,000 Gospel tracts and literature handed out among the crowd and dozens of Gospel centered conversations! Please, pray for those that received a Gospel tract and those we had conversations with! Lord willing, we will be helping her again next year and are even talking about expanding her booth! (More on that next year and how you can help!)
