ERLC, SBC & Leaked Covenant Documents

Twitter/X – whatever you want to call it these days- has been full of nothing but posts and comments on the recent press conference that Brent Leatherwood did in regard to the leaked documents from the shooter at Covenant.

The reason why he has such a large platform so to speak is his role in the ERLC, which is a part of the SBC, a rather large Christian denomination. If you have been following the SBC it would be no shock that they haven’t made the best decisions when it comes to several matters, and it seems those bad decisions just keep on growing.

I think the thing I have the most trouble with Leatherwood’s little put on was how he spoke of the one who leaked the documents and how he speaks of those who would murder their own preborn children -it was like apples to oranges and both I believe in biblical error.

Leatherwood during the press conference stated that the one who was responsible for leaking these documents needed to repent – but he never really states what he needs to repent of. Honestly, is exposing darkness a sin or is it a sin to cover and try and hide it?

He also advocated for criminal charges against this person and even justice to be served – even alluding to the fact that even after repentance, you still have to be held accountable for your actions.

What he is saying here is totally different than what he says about mothers who murder their preborn children and how he advocates for them and their victims.

Brent Leatherwood is on record saying that he will never support the criminalization of mothers who would have their preborn children murdered. He even goes as far at to indicate that mothers who murder their preborn children are victims because of the abortion industry and our society....even stating that these mother need our protection.

What is going on here with this man? And let us be honest here – there are many that think just like him – not biblically.

These types of Christians lead with their flesh, their emotions, their own understandings.

This is not the way dear Christian… we are to expose darkness and we are to love what God loves and hate what He hates.
