IVF: PGT Testing
Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) started in the late 1990’s and during this time you either had normal (euploid) or abnormal (aneuploid) embryos- it wasn’t until 2015 when they added the third category, mosaic.
The mosaic and aneuploid embryos are deemed “undesirable” in the IVF world due to their imperfections and are given the death sentence – which is why we have them outlined in red on the screenshot.
PGT testing is an elective test that can be done on embryos after the initial grading process. Parents who decide to have their embryos tested incur extra costs and willingly risk the lives of their children.
Genetic testing also enables the option for gender selective IVF- allowing parents to decide when and if they have a little boy or a little girl. Embryos are now discarded not only because of their “imperfections” but also because of their sex.
While they call this “preimplantation genetic testing”, we are going to call it what it really is: eugenics.
Given the sinful nature of IVF, I cannot understand how prolife organizations and evangelical churches can condone such a wicked practice- not only accept it but support it as well!
Repentance is needed and our silence must end NOW!
IVF must be abolished.
